PHILIP BLAKE-JONES is the Artistic Director and founder of London Festival Opera and the associate company Opera Interludes. He studied singing and piano at the Royal Academy of Music where he won several awards. He made his professional solo debut in Carmen with Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Other appearances include lead roles at the Buxton Opera House, with the Carl Rosa Opera Company and he is a former principal with the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company with whom he recorded Strephon (Iolanthe) to critical acclaim. He appears on Sony Classical’s The Best of Gilbert & Sullivan. In concert he has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St John's Smith Square, Liverpool Cathedral and at the Pisa Opera House and at La Fenice in Venice.
